Summery Kirjurinluoto Invites You to Explore the Area’s Diverse Services
Known as the central park of Pori, Kirjurinluoto offers a wide range of opportunities for outdoor activities and summer recreation. The traffic park Vinkkari, which provides both fun and educational experiences for children, opens its gates today, Tuesday. Kirjurinluoto’s familiar animal residents are also returning to their summer homes in the coming days. Starting mid-June, lifeguard services will once again be available at Kirjurinluoto’s beach, just like last summer.

Swimming season starts on Sunday - be aware of water safety
The official swimming season starts on Sunday 1 June. The safety of public bathing areas in the Pori region has now been checked and the quality of bathing water will be regularly monitored throughout the summer. Swimming supervision will be carried out on the beaches of Yyteri and Kirjurinluoto from 15 June. When swimming outdoors, special attention must be paid to your own water safety.
Pori open-air swimming pool's summer season starts - central swimming hall closes for the summer
Pori's summer-integrated open-air swimming pool will open its summer season on Monday 2 June, and the guided exercise groups at the open-air swimming pool will start in the second week of June. Damage to the jumping tower was discovered in the spring and the jumping tower will be closed until it is safe to use. The central swimming hall will close for the summer break today.

Three New Exhibitions for Pori’s Museum Summer
The summer season in Pori’s museums kicks off with three exciting new exhibitions. On Friday, 16 May 2025, new exhibitions will open at the Arkki Natural History Museum, the Toivo Building Heritage Centre, and the Satakunta Museum. These exhibitions offer diverse insights into the cultural history of Satakunta and plenty to discover throughout the summer.
KAJ takes to the stage at SuomiAreena 26.6.
One of the biggest phenomena of the moment - the Swedish Eurovision Song Contestant, humour group KAJ - will perform at SuomiAreena in Pori on Thursday 26.6.2025. The free concert is open to all and is presented by Svenska Kulturfonden i Björneborg (SKiB) and S Group.
