The pearls of seaside Pori

Take a road trip along Pori’s breathtaking archipelago routes to Yyteri, Reposaari and Kallo and enjoy the stunning views and attractions of the Bothnian Sea with all your senses.

Yyteri

The most stunning beach in the Nordic countries is a one-of-a-kind destination spanning three kilometres that offers plenty of opportunities for fun in the sun. The child-friendly shallow water invites you to play. If relaxing on the beach isn’t enough, Yyteri also offers activities from golf to visiting an adventure park and from stand-up paddleboarding to surfing. And, of course, the area also has numerous hiking trails.

Opened in summer 2024, the Visitor Centre is not only a destination praised for its beautiful architecture but also a useful source of services for people visiting the area. The tourist information point and the café bring a new boost to your visit to Yyteri and help you make the most of the area’s unique nature and services. During the summer, the area has several cafés and restaurants, and people wanting to stay in the area are served by a beach resorta camping site and a holiday village .

Kallo

Pori residents gather in Kallo to admire both sunsets and the power of the stormy sea. Kallo is a small rocky island that can be accessed by driving straight along Highway 2, without taking a single turn – all the way from Helsinki, if you like. The scenery and atmosphere leave a mark in visitors’ hearts. The Kallo Lighthouse lit up for the first time in 1885. In the summer, visitors are served by a café.

Reposaari

An idyllic island characterised by its wooden houses, Reposaari is almost like a miniature town. Home to about 1,000 residents, the island is a nationally recognised district of Pori, and for good reason. The diverse wooden buildings, the Norwegian-style church and the fishing harbour with its trawlers make the island exceptionally picturesque.

In Reposaari, you can enjoy delicious seafood meals and take in the vastness of the sea on the jetty. On Takaranta shore, the rock engravings and the wartime fortress invite you to go on an adventure. You can spend the night on the island at a camping site surrounded by nature or in a floating villa, for example.

Bothnian Sea National Park

Stretching from Kustavi to Merikarvia, the Bothnian Sea National Park offers wonderful maritime experiences for nature lovers. Most of the park’s destinations are islands, the most popular of which are Säppi and Iso-Enskeri. Both islands are accessible to visitors without their own vessel on boat trips offered in the summer.

Preiviikinlahti Bay, an internationally significant bird site, is one of the few destinations of the Bothnian Sea National Park that are located on the mainland – right near Yyteri, for that matter.
