Yyteri and the Visitor Center open during Midsummer

Yyteri is famous for its expansive sandy beach, considered one of the most beautiful in the Nordic countries. Relax by the sea, go paddleboarding or sailing, or stop by the dune-top container restaurants. Yyteri’s laid-back, nature-filled atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for celebrating Midsummer.

The Yyteri Visitor Center is open during Midsummer:

  • Friday, June 20: 10 AM – 4 PM
  • Saturday, June 21 & Sunday, June 22: 12 PM – 6 PM

The Visitor Center offers tourist information, restrooms, and a small café-shop.

Kirjurinluoto is full of summer vibes

Kirjurinluoto is Pori’s green central park, located along the Kokemäenjoki River, offering a variety of experiences for the whole family. The Pelle Hermanni playground, Vinkkari traffic park, a beach, and local animals and birds attract families with children. Nature trails, the blooming Hanhipuisto, and large green lawns make this a perfect Midsummer picnic spot. Pack your basket with summer favorites and enjoy a peaceful day in nature – just a short walk from the city center.

Midsummer at Eteläranta

Eteläranta, in the heart of Pori along the Kokemäenjoki River, becomes the meeting place for Midsummer festivities on Midsummer’s Eve. A new urban Midsummer event brings live music, a festive pavilion, and a traditional Midsummer bonfire to the area.

The event is organized by Shots Jokiranta in collaboration with the City of Pori, Ässät Hockey Team, and other local partners. Performers include Kuudes Aisti, Syvä Uni, and Kapteeni Lamminen Show. The atmosphere continues late into the night, with the bonfire lighting up the summer night at 10 PM.

Cool off at the Open-air swimming pool

The naturally contoured facility features a full-size diving tower, water slide, three pools of varying sizes, as well as sauna and changing room facilities.
