Ironworks milieu in Ulvila offers a peaceful cultural environment.

This 1800s ironworks milieu in Ulvila, near Highway 11, offers visitors a peaceful cultural environment where you can hear the sounds of the nearby rapids and the clinking of the blacksmith’s hammer while visiting 10 artisan’s workshops and exhibitions. Don’t forget to visit the unique ironworks café-restaurant where you will be met by the aroma of freshly baked bread. The ironworks is open during the summer season from May to August and for special events throughout the year. Group bookings are also accepted all year round.

The ironworks’ offering in the summer includes café and restaurant services in the unique ironworks bakery from 1850s, museums (blast furnace, scale model illustrating the ironworks village in 1895, the Kangasniemi Museum of Sports, Seppä Saclenin asuntomuseo (blacksmith Sacklen’s apartment museum)), metal art exhibitions, a geocache-typed treasure course for children where the families can freely search for treasures, a disc golf course with nine disc golf baskets, beach, playground, grazing sheep, summer theatre and ten artisans’ workshops in old blacksmith cabins selling their artwork. Accommodation in blacksmith cabins as well as sauna and meeting rooms can also be rented.

For groups, ironworks also offer guidance as well as active handicrafts, exercise and meeting packages.
