Autumn break in Pori 2025

In Finland, schoolchildren have their autumn break in weeks 42 or 43. Pori invites you to spend an unforgettable autumn vacation with the whole family! Yyteri offers plenty to do, from a light trail and outdoor movies to campfire grilling and seaside walks. In the city center, you can explore interesting museums and enjoy events ranging from concerts to art workshops.

Yyteri invites you to the seaside

In Yyteri, you can enjoy an unforgettable fall break full of activities with the whole family! The stunning natural scenery provides the perfect environment for relaxation and adventure. The city of Pori and local businesses have put together a diverse program full of fun and experiences for all ages for every day of the autumn break from October 13 to 26. The program includes outdoor movies, climbing, and alpaca petting.

Last year’s hit, the light trail, is also making a comeback! This year, the light trail invites you to explore the four seasons. The route once again circles the short Yyteri Fitness Trail and is also suitable for the youngest members of the family. The starting point is next to the Yyteri Visitor Center. The experience is free and available every day from around 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. according to your own schedule!

Check out the program and enjoy the autumn breeze and sea views!

Kirjurinluoto invites you to play and have fun

Kirjurinluoto is Pori’s central park and is known as a recreational area for all ages. At Kirjurinluoto, you can enjoy the whole day playing in the playgrounds and hiking on nature trails.

The Pelle Hermanni playground is open to everyone, and both younger and older children can enjoy themselves there, which is why it is so easy to have fun! The playground covers an area of approximately three hectares, which is equivalent to almost five soccer fields! The park has a huge number of play areas, slides, and climbing frames suitable for different ages – all free of charge.

Kirjurinluoto is also a great destination for hiking. The Polsanluoto trail is also suitable for the youngest members of the family; the 0.7-kilometer-long route runs through a natural environment, partly along boardwalks. There is also a campfire site along the route (bring your own wood).

A journey into the world of museums

In addition to exhibitions, Pori’s museums offer plenty of fun activities for children and the whole family during the autumn break. Admission to museums is free for children under 18 and students. There is a separate participation fee for workshops. Children under school age must always be accompanied by an adult when participating in museum events.

All museums offer a free backpack, which encourages visitors to explore the exhibitions and try their hand at small-scale activities. The contents of the backpacks are suitable for children and adults to enjoy together.

Satakunta Museum, Rosenlew Museum, The Ark Nature Centre, and Building Preservation Centre Toivo also have nice play areas. Pori Art Museum has a DIY workstation and the Satakunta Museum Kamari has a self-service workshop, both of which are open to everyone.
