Alvar Aalto’s Terraced House in Kauttua’s Ruukinpuisto in Eura is a place where architecture, interior design and art come together. One of the apartments is decorated with old Artek furniture and lighting fixtures. The interior decoration and exhibitions in the apartment are curated by Pertti Männistö, an avid collector of Aalto designs. Some of the exhibited items are for sale. The apartment in the Terraced House hosts changing exhibitions and the furniture featured in the sales exhibition changes from time to time, so there is always something new to see and experience!

Alvar Aalto designed the Terraced House in Kauttua’s Ruukinpuisto as a residence for senior salaried employees in 1938. The area also features several others buildings designed by Aalto, and Ruukinpuisto in Kauttua is one of the best-known Aalto-themed destinations in Finland.

  • Open in the summer (10.6.-31.8.2023) Tue–Sun 11 a.m.–5 p.m. (closed during Midsummer). Other times Saturdays 11 a.m.–3 p.m. (closed in December-February). Guided tours for groups on request.
