Yyteri's new attraction – Yyteri Visitor Center – provides visitors with a viewpoint to explore the biodiversity of the area's nature. It also offers services such as the Yyteri Shop, tourist information, and year-round restroom facilities. The opening of the new visitor center is scheduled for July 1st. This center will create new opportunities for visitors and support business development in the area.

Known as the central park of Pori, Kirjurinluoto offers splendid surroundings for outdoor activities and relaxation. Vinkkari, the traffic park providing useful and fun activities for the youngest family members, opens to the public on Tuesday, and the animals return to their summer homes in Kirjurinluoto in the coming days. As a novelty, lifeguard supervision will commence at Kirjurinluoto Beach in mid-June.

The official swimming season starts on Saturday 1 June, when the city's official beaches open. The safety of the beaches is checked by diving and water quality is regularly monitored. Taking care of your own water safety is particularly important for those swimming in outdoor waters.

Pori's outdoor swimming pool, an essential part of Pori's summer, will open its summer season on 3 June. The Central Swimming Hall closed for the summer break yesterday, 30 May, and will reopen at the end of August.

Construction work will begin on the customer service counters at Porin Leijona's visitor services on Friday, May 24, and visitor services will be closed during the construction.

The preparations for the upcoming summer and the busiest time of the year, in Yyteri, is at full speed. The beach's restroom services are once again available, and new this year, you can charge your electric car at the Yyteri square parking lot. Additionally, the walking bridge, Golflankonki, which was renovated last fall to be more accessible, guides outdoor enthusiasts parallel to the beach from Yyteri Hotel towards Herrainpäivät. The most visible new feature is the new Yyteri Visitor Center being built at Yyteri square, which will open its doors at the beginning of July.

European Route of Industrial Heritage ERIH will add a large group new of Finnish destinations to itself. For the province of Satakunta this is remarkable news, for the province has five industrial heritage destinations, which will open Finland’s first official ERIH Regional Route in Satakunta today, May 17th, 2024.

It is now official: the second phase of Jokikeskus (river centre) of Pori is being finished and you can admire it from May 1st forwards as most of the region will be opened to the public. Many of the services in the region will also open and prepare themselves for the coming summer season in a revised environment. The last construction site structures will be removed by the beginning of June.
