Yyteri Summer Season Is On!
The summer season in Yyteri has begun, bringing with it lively summer days once again. Beach lifeguard services will start on June 15 and continue until August 15. The visitor center, which opened last year, is open daily and offers plenty to see and do for everyone!

Yyteri’s official swimming season began on June 1, and the beach’s toilet facilities are once again available. The beach also provides changing rooms and showers. Lifeguard services are available daily at Yyteri Beach from June 15 to August 15, between 12 PM and 6 PM. Despite the presence of lifeguards, swimmers are primarily responsible for their own water safety. Water quality reports during the swimming season are available on the bulletin board at the Visitor Center and on the exterior wall of the beach changing facilities. The current water temperature is also posted at the Visitor Center.
The Yyteri Visitor Center, which opened last July, is open seven days a week during the summer season. You can find exact opening hours on the Visitor Center’s website. The center includes a tourist information point and restrooms that are available 24/7. The building also houses the Yyteri Shop, a combination store and café, which generally operates according to the Visitor Center’s opening hours. During the spring, new signage was designed for the center, and new signs are expected to be installed during the summer.
“The Visitor Center, which has been serving Yyteri’s guests for almost a year now, has received a lot of positive feedback, both for its design that suits the unique surroundings and for its services. I believe it’s important to serve visitors not only daily during the peak summer season but also every weekend throughout the year,” says Tove Vesterbacka, responsible for Yyteri’s development.
Services for Every Taste
In summer, Yyteri offers a wide range of events and experiences for all preferences. The 2025 event calendar includes the Yyteri Sannat geocaching event, the annual Yyteri Sandstorm, and Yyteri Meeting, all inviting visitors to explore the area’s diverse offerings.

The Yyteri Wellness Hotel will be closed in summer 2025 due to renovations. However, the Yyteri area still offers a wide variety of services to suit all tastes. Accommodation options range from camping to villas. In addition to established service providers, familiar container restaurants from previous years are back in service – Jungle Juice Bar offers refreshing smoothies, and Chicken Bar serves Asian delicacies. The container restaurants are located at the end of Yyterinsantojentie, atop the dunes. Read more about Yyteri’s summer services here.
Electric cyclists are also catered for in Yyteri: there are 10 bike racks with electric charging options near the Visitor Center. Six racks have enclosed chargers, and four allow direct plug-in charging.
