Conversations about fashion, artful mornings, and crafting seed bombs for pollinators

Pori Museums Invite You to an Experience-Filled Summer. Spend a memorable summer enjoying exhibitions, guided tours, and workshops at the museums of Pori. Throughout the season, the Satakunta Museum, Pori Art Museum, Rosenlew Museum, Nature House Arkki, as well as the Toivo Building Heritage House and Korsman House, offer something for everyone – locals and visitors alike, and for all ages. You can start your museum day, for example, with an Art Morning at the Pori Art Museum. All museums accept the Museum Card as a payment method. Admission to Pori museums is free for visitors under 18 and students.

Children’s Summer Workshops

From early June to the end of July, museums will host children’s workshops where young participants can create art and learn about nature and history through hands-on activities. Workshop themes range from rune writing to crafting seed bombs for pollinators and building old instruments. Workshops are available at the Pori Art Museum, Satakunta Museum, Rosenlew Museum, and Arkki – Nature Centre during the first two weeks of June. At Toivo – Building Preservation Centre, workshops are held from Midsummer until the end of July.

Guided Exhibition Tours

Interested in art, fashion, architecture, or industrial history? This summer, you can learn more about all of them through guided tours. Some of the featured exhibitions include:

  • Teemu Muurimäki – Quarto di Secolo – A Quarter Century of Bespoke Fashion, Satakunta Museum
  • The Era of Family Companies and The Sketchers of Pori, Rosenlew Museum
  • Circle: Dot, Laura Lilja: Cargo Colours, and Maire Gullichsen and the Turning Points of Modernism, Pori Art Museum

In addition, museums feature many other exhibitions, such as:

  • Paperboard, Pastries, and Percolator Coffee – 30 Years of Toivo, Toivo – Building Preservation Centre

Special Days

Pay What You Want Day – June 18
Visitors have a unique opportunity to explore the museums for a self-selected admission fee on Wednesday, June 18. It’s a low-threshold chance to experience the exhibitions. At Pori Art Museum, there will be a guided tour in easy Finnish at 4:30 PM.

Pori Museums at SuomiAreena Citizens’ Square – June 24
Pori Museums will be showcased on Tuesday, June 24, from 10 AM to 5 PM at the Pori Container on the Market Square, at the so-called Airio Corner. Welcome to chat and learn more about the museums’ activities!

Extended Opening Hours

From June 23 to July 28, museums will also be open on Mondays. Additionally, Toivo – Building Preservation Centre will be exceptionally open on Fridays as well.
During Pori Jazz Week (July 16–19), Satakunta Museum and Pori Art Museum will be open daily until 8 PM.

Night of the Arts – August 16

On Saturday, August 16, during the Night of the Arts, both Satakunta Museum and Pori Art Museum will be open until 8 PM – welcome to spend a culture-filled day in the atmospheric setting of the museums!
At Satakunta Museum, the day begins with a morning discussion featuring Teemu Muurimäki, Tarmo Thorström, and Elina Wallin, focusing on fashion and lace, followed by exhibition tours.
