Kulturhuset Fiini, opening in Pori in January, is a house of culture, art, and events, whose magnificent premises are open daily. The building is a modern masterpiece and an attraction in itself. The house has a charming café and a central library open to all with a Nordic theme.

Rauha Sauna & Lounge, which opened in November in the green landscape of Kirjurinluoto, invites you to relax on the banks of the Kokemäenjoki River, surrounded by the beautiful scenery of Eteläranta. The spacious sauna offers gentle heat, and the more daring can take a dip in the river all year round. Various theme days, wellness classes, and events take your visit to a whole new level. The café is also open without a sauna session, and in the summer, the large terrace offers a place to enjoy refreshments while admiring the river views.

From Moomins to the mausoleum

The works created by Tove Jansson and Tuulikki Pietilä for the Taikurinhatu daycare center in Pori are returning to Pori from an exhibition at the Helsinki Art Museum HAM. Starting in February, they will be on display in a small exhibition at the Satakunta Museum. The exhibition includes Jansson’s last public work of art, mixed media works on the Moomin theme, and Pietilä’s graphic art.

The Contra Conservatio group exhibition, which will open at the Pori Art Museum in March, will bring to the museum’s Hall not only contemporary art but also the original ceiling frescoes painted by Akseli Gallen-Kallela for the Jusélius Mausoleum, which were saved from a fire that destroyed other murals in 1931.

Events galore

Every year, the event calendar also offers new treats, and next year’s unique experience will be the Bandy World Championships in January. The games will be played at the Pori artificial ice rink from January 12 to 18, 2026. This is an event for the whole family, as children can attend the games free of charge and there will be sports activities in the area on game days.

The festival city of Pori is known for the Kirjurinluoto Aito Iskelmä Festival on June 26-27, Pori Jazz on July 10-18, and Porispere on July 31-August 1, but the festival scene is getting even stronger with the Rosteri Rock event at the Pori Horse Racing Track on June 6.

There’s more to do than just music events, too. The Kuukkari Old Houses event opens up the wooden houses of the neighborhood to visitors and will be expanded to two days on June 6–7. SuomiAreena celebrates its 20th anniversary in the center of Pori on June 23–26.

The Pori Cup soccer tournament will be held again from July 23 to 26, and the Finnish Junior Athletics Championships will take place at the renovated Pori Stadium from August 21 to 23.

On the last weekend of August, Reposaari will be transformed into a magical circle of stories when Sensommar Filmfest brings films and other programming to the VPK building and church, among other venues.
