It is the most attractive centre of retail, services, education, events, culture and, in the future, even housing in the Satakunta region. Close to the centre of Pori, Puuvilla is the largest shopping centre in Satakunta. It provides customers with more than 60 shops and 2,000 free parking spaces.
The Pori cotton mill was born from the desire to realise dreams, to succeed. The story continues into the new millennium at the new Shopping Centre Puuvilla, which is much more than a shopping centre. It is a complete city block, providing a magnificent setting for companies in various sectors, training organisations and public sector service units. The riverside, the classic industrial architecture and environmentally sound infrastructure render Puuvilla unique in Finland and the Nordics.
Shopping Centre Puuvilla was built respecting the historically valuable milieu and the environment. 90 percent of the heating and cooling energy required by the property is geothermal and sourced from waste heat recovery. In addition, a new solar power system is used.
Shopping Centre Puuvilla’s unique milieu has received several awards: the 2014 Feat of the Year in Pori (JC Pori/Porin Nuorkauppakamari ry), the 2015 Shopping Centre Feat of the Year (Finnish Council of Shopping Centers) and the best Shopping Centre in Finland 2017, chosen by the Nordic Council of Shopping Centers NCSC.
