Established in 1981 around the art collection of Professor Maire Gullichsen, Pori Art Museum is a museum of contemporary art that introduces the latest trends in Finnish and international art.
The art museum is partially open after a fire in July 2021.
Exhibitions are organised in the lobby areas while the large galleries are under renovation. The museum shop, lecture hall and workshop space are open for visitors.
Pori Art Museum is located at the banks of Kokemäenjoki river in a historical customs warehouse built in 1860.
Acting as the regional museum of the Satakunta region, the museum manages collections and archives focusing on modernism and contemporary art. The educational services are aimed at customers of all ages and help find new ways to approach art and visual culture.
The museum shop is full of high-quality products and sustainable choices that make great gifts or souvenirs. Explore art books or tap into your creativity with art supplies. Find your favourite Finnish design products and surprise your friends. Pori Art Museum also offers non-material products, such as gift cards to workshops and guided tours.
