KAJ takes to the stage at SuomiAreena 26.6.

One of the biggest phenomena of the moment - the Swedish Eurovision Song Contestant, humour group KAJ - will perform at SuomiAreena in Pori on Thursday 26.6.2025. The free concert is open to all and is presented by Svenska Kulturfonden i Björneborg (SKiB) and S Group.

Watch the cherry trees blossom at the Hanhiluoto

The birthdays of Pori National Urban Park have traditionally been celebrated by planting cherry trees in the Hanhiluoto area of Kirjurinluoto or at the mouth of the Portal Tunnel at the Travel Centre. Yyteri is again awarded an international environmental certificate as the only beach in Finland!

Yyter Beach has been awarded the prestigious Blue Flag certificate in the category of swimming beaches. The certificate is awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE international), the world's largest environmental education organisation. To be awarded the certificate, a participant must meet and maintain strict criteria relating to the environment, safety and accessibility.

An exhibition focusing on the career and bespoke garments of fashion artist Teemu Muurimäki will open at Satakunta Museum on Saturday 26 April. The exhibition presents nearly 60 stunning unique bespoke garments and takes the visitor on a journey to the heart of Finnish high fashion. This is the first exhibition to showcase Muurimäki's work on a large scale, and it will take place in his hometown of Pori.

Construction of the year-round swimming area at Kirjurinluoto has started

The construction of a year-round bathing area at the Kirjurinluoto sauna has started. The excavation and embankment works for the bathing area are scheduled to be completed by the beginning of May, after which the beach will be cleared for the construction of the sauna. The swimming area is currently a construction site, so please exercise caution in its vicinity. The work on the bathing area, which was put out to tender by the City of Pori, will be carried out by Reittitiimi Oy.
