The Talviklassikko brings hustle to Pori's Isomäki and impacts local traffic
Ice hockey teams Porin Ässät and Rauman Lukko host the Talviklassikko ice hockey event on January 24–25, 2025, at the artificial ice rink in Pori. The event and its arrangements will affect traffic in and around the sports center area.

Finland won the Men’s Floorball World Championship in December 2024. This historic victory also brought the first-ever floorball World Championship gold medalists from Pori.
Maintenance break begins today on Pori Forest ski trails
The warm weather forecasted for the coming days poses challenges for maintaining the ski trails in Pori Forest. To preserve the current trail base for use when the weather becomes more winter-like again, maintenance of the Pori Forest ski trails will be temporarily suspended. The maintenance break is expected to last about a week.
Talviklassikko causes temporary changes at Liisantori ice rink
Preparations for the Talviklassikko outdoor hockey game, to be held at the artificial ice rink of Pori Sports Center on January 24–25, are in full swing this week. Due to event arrangements, the artificial ice rink at Liisantori will be repurposed from January 13 to 31 as an alternative practice venue for bandy players and speed skaters. These temporary arrangements will affect public use of Liisantori ice rink in the mornings, evenings, and weekends. Additionally, Narukerä and its partners will organize free, open skating events at Liisantori in the coming weeks.
Super year of culture in Pori tourism
Tourism ideas for 2025 are once again being sought at the Helsinki Matka Travel Fair, where Visit Pori will, as usual, be present from January 16–19. This year, Pori tourism will especially pamper culture enthusiasts, as the newly renovated Pori Art Museum reopens to the public, and the highlight of the Satakunta Museum's year will be Teemu Muurimäki's Quarto di secolo – A Quarter Century of Unique Gowns exhibition.
The skiing season in Pori Forest has started
Despite the rainy weather, the spreading of the preserved snow has progressed and the first ski track in Pori Forest has been opened. The approximately one-kilometre-long ski track can be easily reached via Ilmailuopistontie road.
Arkki Nature Centre opens its doors again on 3.12.
The renovation work on the Ark Nature Centre has been completed and the museum will open to the public on Tuesday 3 December, after a break of a couple of months.
